Server2Go for Joomla on CD-Rom and USB Drive
You can also use the Joomla! plug-in called Joomlas2go if you do not want to go through the hassle of configuring everything by yourself manually: http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/tools/standalone-servers/4707 We have not tested the extension [it is a commercial extension], but I belief given the positive reviews and recommendations of users that this is something you should look into.

Thanks a lot!!!!!!!! - Once I played with the access settings, I changed the User Joomla access on 'special' instead of 'public' And I got the same problem encountered. The note, above helped me to understand the User Joomla functionality, and I fixed the User Joomla access on a right one, which is 'public'.. Many thanks!!!!!!!

[SOLVED] Images not visible in stories folder - Good evening, Finally my problem was solved when changing the chmod not through the FTP client I usualy use beacause the problem still remain (strangly) but in accessing directly to CPanel of my web site. I do that yesterday. But today, I noticed another strangly thing......when I uploaded images by FileZila I was be able to see the images in the media explorer (back-end) before that problem occurs and it is not the case now. But when I transfers now with LeechFTP I can see the image through the media explorer. This is what happened today. I don't understand. The problem began when the hoster make changes to his servers and sites was stopped for a few days. Anyway, thanks you very much for answers and happy new years 2012

intriguing question - Dear anonymous, This is a very interesting question to which I do not directly have an answer. But you may want to look into the following: Check the permission settings of the directory: Go to your administrator control panel Of Joomla! (the backend) and click on help ---> System Info ---> Directory Permissions. The directory images/stories/ should be writable. if not, make sure you change the permission settings using your FTP. If you do not see the folder with images using an editor when you draft an article in Joomla!, consider using the default editor of Joomla! and see if this makes a change. Cheers

Please I have any solution for that ? Regards
Sharing Your Joomla Website on a USB Stick or Portable Hard Disk with Server2Go
Takes too long to zip - I did not know I had big video and images folder that came up to 1.5GB. Zipping bought it down to 1.3GB. And today it's due to the customer and my internet connection is a 256 Kpbs. The zipping took 4ever on the Cpanel. Should have just copied it directly over FTP, at least it would have been ready by this morning.

Optimize Your Joomla Web Presence with Icons From the Crystal Project
Dear Sachin, Our site is based on Joomla, a content management system that is developed by a community of opensource programmers. As such, we do not have a full code for you, but a reference to the development community: www.joomla.org There you can find more information on how to set up a Joomla site like www.developmentwork.net
DOCMAN no Longer for Free
Johan does have a valid point here. Developing quality extensions takes considerable resources in time and money. The model of providing older versions of DOCMAN, with the two version back release policy, is innovative and will continue to give access to DOCMAN to those who cannot or do not want to contribute financially to development. It is a smart development strategy.

DOCMAN no Longer for Free
Joomlatools Director - Thanks for your post. I would like to offer some feedback related to what you write. You say that : 'By charging for DOCman we are undermining the concept of Free Software'. I respectfully disagree. Charging a small fee for DOCman allows us to invest in development and better support. The results are there already in the last 8 weeks we have released two maintenance releases for 1.5. "Free Software" is about freedom, not about price. Free Software gives you a number of rights, most importantly to use the software as you wish. See http://www.commercialgpl.com for a (very short) introduction to commercial Free Software. You make a valid point that there will be a point that DOCman 1.4 cannot be used anymore due to Joomla compatibility problems. We have discussed this issue already and are considering a 2 version back release strategy. Meaning that when DOCman 1.7 comes out, DOCman 1.5 will become available for free of charge. More information about our roadmap and release strategy will be made available in the coming weeks. Keep an eye on our blog at http://blog.joomlatools.eu Johan Janssens - Joomlatools Director
DOCMAN no Longer for Free
Let's see if they keep their promise to have 1.4. patched for security and available for free.
