Siteground, the provider on which this site is hosted, has released the useful jAutoUpdate component to upgrade your Joomal 1.5 version to the latest version directly from the Joomla admin panel.
The component saves you a lot of time as it automatically updates your Joomla application to the latest 1.5.x version. You no longer have to either manually update the files through your FTP client or click on the tricky upgrade option in Fantastico (which often seems to fail).
With this excellent component, all you need to do is click on a button in the admin of your site (version check) and the system takes care of the rest. The forced update is useful if you have been tweaking the system and you want default files to be restored.
We have tested the component on a number of sites and it works flawlessly.

This is a must-have component for those of you who want to keep their sites updated and secure at all times. Note that you cannot use this component to upgrade Joomla 1.0 to Joomla 1.5, it can update your Joomla 1.5.10 to the latest 1.5 version.
